Who would have thought the English wine scene would be booming 20 years ago? Did you know that we have an urban winery in Cambridge, excellent vineyards just a stone’s throw away and a fantastic wine shop specialising in English wine? Creating a tour focusing on the best of Cambridge’s local and fine wines has always been a dream for Gerla.
This Tour will include unique tastings exclusively created for the Cambridge Food Tour. We are pleased to share that one of the top English sommeliers in the UK, who specialises in underrated wines from less ordinary regions, an urban winery and an English wine shop are some of the stops included on this Tour. Food will be served along the way. You will be sampling 11 wines, a mix of English and international wines.
The launch of the Cambridge Wine Tour is on Saturday, March 23, 2024. This Tour will only be run as a private tour, but on our launch date, it will be open for individual bookings with a maximum of 8 tickets. ( £ 135 p.p.)

- Private tour only. This tour is a private tour only with a minimum of 6 guests. Different days and timings on request.
- Special edition tour. We will be running a special introduction tour in spring for which you can buy indiviual tickets. We do need a minimum of 6 to run this tour.
- Please contact us if you are looking to book for a smaller or larger party. For smaller parties the fixed price is £ 800.

Cambridge Wine Tour Itinerary
- We’ll kick off with a delicious pastry of your choice from one of the best bakeries in Cambridge to line our stomachs for the wine tastings to come.
- On our first wine tasting you will taste a flight of 3 wines selected by award-winning sommelier Cong Cong Bo, with carefully matched cheeses from their local fine food partner, Culinaris.
- The next stop is a Portuguese bakery for a couple of delicious savoury bites.
- Moving to north of the River Cam, we will joining the Cambridge wine maker of the urban winery for a tasting of two of his wines.
- Time for our sit down lunch with a fine glass of Tokaji and an Italian starter and main course.
- We will be finishing at an English wine shop for a tasting of 5 English wines.
