Wine Tasting with Cong at the University Arms

Exploring Dryness in Wines

Instead of Dry January, we propose a tasting of wines that explore the concept of dryness in wine. While a wine is dry when it contains minimal sugar, it doesn’t always taste dry. You’re more likely to think a wine is sweet when there is abundant fruit, honey, caramel, and other aromas which you would normally associate with a sweet taste – a phenomenon I call associative sweetness.
