Dine at a cosy bistro on Mill Road
Fancett’s is a small French-influenced bistro located on Mill Road in Cambridge. It offers a prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner. The setting is relaxed, personal, and intimate, and the menus are seasonal.
On NYE, they will serve a 5-course menu, including a glass of Champagne upon arrival. Reservations from 18:00 – 20:45 – more details in the link below
Delve into the world of English Sparkling Wines
Start your New Year’s Eve celebrations in style – or if you’re not inclined to party late into the evening, make this the occasion to mark the moment! Nothing says luxury like a larger format bottle of sparkling wine, and we’ve assembled a selection of magnums of the finest English Sparkling Wines from which to pop the corks this 31st December.
While we’ll still pour your wines and tell you some highlights about each of them, there’ll be less chat from us than normal, allowing you to socialise with friends at your table. For those who want to know a bit more about the wines, we’ll happily come round the tables to talk with you. For this tasting, you’re welcome to bring any food you fancy- we’ll provide plates and cutlery. Alternatively, do get in touch if you’d like to pre-order one of our cheese or meat boards.
The tasting will be led by our former Shop Manager, Felix, who is returning for a guest presenter slot!
Celebrate at the neighbourhood restaurant Margaret’s
The team at Margaret’s is thrilled to be opening our doors for our very first New Year’s Eve celebration – and they’d love for you to join them!
They will be serving a very special menu to bring in the New Year with you. Sam, Seb and the team have crafted a wonderful, seasonal menu to make this an evening to remember. Whether you’re joining them for lunch, an early dinner, or our evening sitting, this is definitely not one to miss!
New Year’s Eve Menus — Tuesday 31st December
A special three-course set menu to start your celebrations early.
- Lunch – 12pm to 2:45pm | £70pp
- Early Dinner – 4pm to 6pm | £90pp
Enjoy a four-course menu in a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere – perfect if you’re heading out to ring in 2026 later in the evening. The restaurant will close at 11pm so our team can toast the New Year with their loved ones – and you can make it home or on to your next celebration before midnight!

Kick off 2026 at one of the most unique venues
The Orator carries a legacy of hospitality in the heart of Cambridge. For over 200 years, the Cambridge Union Society has provided hospitality to its members and distinguished guests, and now its doors are open to everyone to dine, drink and join the debate.
The team has created a fantastic 3-course menu including a glass of fizz and freshly baked sourdough with black garlic butter.
Please make sure you get your booking in sooner rather than later as the Orator is well-known for its excellent cocktails and you don’t want to miss out on these!

Celebrate 2026 at the Grand Dame of Cambridge
Step into an evening of timeless elegance with their New Year’s Gala Package, designed to make your countdown to 2026 truly special.
Begin the evening with a sparkling reception, where you’ll be welcomed with bubbles and handcrafted canapés before moving into Parker’s Tavern for an indulgent five-course dinner, specially curated for the occasion.
As the clock ticks closer to midnight, the party comes alive back in the Ballroom with live music from The G and The Lizards, bringing the energy and keeping the dance floor full all night long. This band is a high-end energetic and authentic band, performing everything from Pop, classic Rock n Roll, Soul, Motown and Jazz through to 80s pop and 90s R&B, they will keep you dancing all night long.

When you arrive, grab your welcome drink of either 2/3 Lightbulb or a Glass of Fizz. Then the Non-Stop Pizza Party starts. As you arrive, we’ll be bringing out Vegetable Antipasti skewers and olives to have with your welcome drink.
Pizza Mondo will be bringing out food all night until 1130 p.m. When purchasing a ticket, please choose your dietary preference and let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances. We will do our best to accommodate and ensure you are well-fed all night long.

Fizz, pizzas and gooey desserts
Scott’s All Day will open its doors on New Year’s Eve for a 3-course set menu dinner featuring their favourites and the option to add a bottomless drinks package for £20 per head.

Damn good NYE party at the funky Permit Room
This is your permit to party. Permit Room Cambridge is hosting a New Year’s Eve knees-up and damn-good start to 2026. All in. All out. Expect some of their best-ever cocktails, plates and plates of food and music to dance yourself to gloriously good health.
Tickets are £39.50 per person with pre-payment at checkout, and include:

One of the best ways to cure your hangover the day after the big party is to hit the commons for fresh air and end up at a pub for a bite to eat or a drink. If the countryside is not your kinda thing, we suggest a scenic leisurely stroll through the historic centre.
