About Gerla
For the love of food & travel
Cambridge is my playground & beyond is my inspiration!
Everybody needs to recharge their batteries. My travels are always filled with food, mingling with locals, and exploring off the beaten track. As a Globetrotter Foodie, I follow my eyes, which often take me to unusual and exciting places.
Here is a bit about me, my favourite food and travel and of course my favourite city – Cambridge!

About Gerla
Welcome to my travel blog, ‘The Globetrotter Foodie’, an exciting travel and food website. It’s all about exploring the world through the eyes of a foodie, including my favourite recipes.

Latest reviews
Food is always on my mind and at the top of my agenda. Life is too short to have disappointing food and drink. Head over to my Instagram page for updates on my latest food and travel adventures.

My Cambridge
My favourite spots in Cambridge? I love to stroll along the River Cam through the commons, shop at the local market and indie shops. And the best thing? The Cambridge foodscene. I can’t get enough of it!

Best local food
Join me on one of my food walking tours and discover Cambridge through the eyes of a foodie. Expect to go off the beaten track and experience a city as locals do, discovering the latest food, fine local produce, and the hottest places to eat in town.

My favourites
Are you a foodie traveller too, just like me? The best way to learn about local food is to join a food walking tour. They are so much fun, and some of them are not by foot, but on the back of a Vespa, in an old American Taxi or on a mudflat!

Recipes
Are you looking to impress your guests without spending hours in the kitchen? Most of my recipes are not time consuming at all. If you start with good ingredients then the outcome should be delicious. Many of my recipes are farm to table as I grow my own vegetables.
