Local Market
Under the pressure of changing lifestyles, the Cambridge Market became less popular during the week. Seven years ago, Cambridge City Council hatched the plan to introduce street food to fill the empty spaces. It offers a very good selection of street food trading 7 days per week.
Clay Farm
Clay Farm is located on a unique greenfield site in Cambridge’s Southern Fringe Development Area. There is a big focus on the community and includes community gardens, an allotment site and a large meadow. You can find Clay Farm Food trucks pitching here at Hobson Square.
Trumpington
Trumpington Meadows is a development built alongside the picturesque village of Grantchester. There is a big focus on sustainability and nature. It borders Byron’s Pool, and 80% of the site is open green space, orchards and allotments. Food Trucks pitch here Sainsbury’s.
OtherSyde
This quirky riverside venue in East Cambridge is only minutes away from the city centre. OtherSyde is set on the grounds of the Cambridge Museum of Technology – Offering a range of experiences, serving coffee during the day and in the evening hearty food.
Pop ups
Cambridge can be proud of a good variety of local street food traders. Many of them have regular pitches at street food markets, but you can find them dotted around Cambridge city centre too. Where can you find these traders?
Thirsty
One of the quirkiest places you can find in Cambridge. The brainchild of Sam Owens opened its doors in 2015 and has a huge following. This bar & bottle shop is a bit of an emporium for brilliantly made beer and wine to drink in or take home. Booking recommended!
Station
Local street food traders pitch up at Station Square most of the week. You can find a coffee trader and Al Chile opposite the Old Ticket Office. Head over to the Coop on Hills Road, and you will come across Ling Ling serving up authentic food from Taiwan. On Friday’s foodPark pitches her too.
Grafton
Looking for a bite to eat whilst your shopping, but want to eat local? Head over to Food Social at the Grafton Centre. On the first floor, you can find an excellent offering of street food such as Flam-Kuche, Italian and South American food. Whilst you’re there, check out Il Mercato.
