Beer, Bread and Cheese with Ned Palmer in Saffron Walden
A rare opportunity to step inside the historic Old Sun Inn and enjoy a special evening of beer, cheese, bread and cured foods with award-winning food historian and author Ned Palmer, alongside the team from Roughacre Brewery.
Organised by Hello Food Tours, the event will see guests enjoy a guided tasting of four carefully selected beer and food pairings while discovering the stories, traditions and techniques that connect Britain’s great fermented foods. Known for his engaging and entertaining approach to food history, Ned will bring Britain’s rich cheesemaking heritage to life, while Roughacre Brewery share insights into the brewing process and the craft behind each beer, including the Old Sun Inn’s fundraising beer.
Following a sold-out appearance at the venue earlier this year, Ned returns with a completely new tasting experience exploring the fascinating links between beer, bread, cheese and cured foods, and the people who have made and enjoyed them through the centuries.
The evening is supported by local independent businesses Sage and Saffron deli ,and local bookshop Harts who will have Ned’s books available to purchase and be signed on the night.
