Join the Apple Day at Burwash Manor

A CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS APPLE, IN AID OF THE SICK CHILDRENS TRUST! Come and join a fabulous countryside celebration…with the apple at its core! Burwash Manor are doing all sorts of things with apples…from pulping them (bring your own apples and our juicing crew will be on hand to press them for you), identifying them (East of England Apple and Orchards Project will be there to identify your mystery apple, and hoping they can find a previously unknown variety), drinking them in the form of juice and cider and, you never know, you might feel the urge to just eat (and buy) some of the many local varieties that we will have on show! Take a ride on a pony, have a go on the fairground, board the steam train, or watch displays of many traditional activities – from pottery and bee-keeping to basket and fence weaving. And there will even be some less traditional treats –the assault course springs to mind! There’s plenty to keep little ones occupied – peeling an apple (how long could your peel be?), apple tasting, face painting and the ever-popular tractor and trailer rides around the farm. And don’t worry if you start to get peckish – there are plenty of food vans, refreshment stops and, of course, ice cream! Saturday October 11th from 10am onwards Entrance is £6 per adult, children under 12 are free. Last year we raised just under £7,000 for the Sick Children’s Trust….maybe this year we can make even more!
