As soon as the sun comes out, people flock to the open green spaces in Cambridge to meet up with friends and family, play games and for a picnic. Since the pandemic, locals have discovered the lesser known areas too. Here are our favourite picnic places in Cambridge. 

Fitzbillies

One of the oldest bakeries in Cambridge offers a range of picnics from a full Traditional English afternoon tea to a simple packed lunch. They all feature the bread and cakes that Fitzbillies make by hand, every day in our artisan bakery in Cambridge.

Aromi 

Since 2013 this popular cafe has been serving traditional Sicilian dishes. Aromi offers freshly made, authentic delicacies, handcrafted and honest products prepared using traditional Sicilian techniques. Head over to Aromi to get a slice of Sicilian life for your picnic.

Signorelli’s

Good quality Italian food and the passion of Alessandro’s is the recipe of an excellent product. The Italian cured meats, cheeses, wine and craft beer, are all sourced from his homeland. With homemade pizzas and bread, recipes with a twist, its’ a perfect place to pick up a picnic. 

Il Mercato

The 4th enterprise of Allessandro, Il Mercato By Signorelli, is the first authentic Mediterranean Deli offering authentic products from around the Mediterranean. With so much choice, it’s an excellent place to pick up excellent food for your picnic.

Cheese Co

Tucked away in one of the back streets in Cambridge city centre, All Saints Passage, it is one of our favourite shops. Their commitment is to bring you exceptional artisanal food from across the UK and Europe from passionate producers. New to their range are delicious artisan picnics.

Culinaris is part of the vibrant community on Mill Road on one of the junctions to the Station. It’s a tiny deli, and you’ll be surprised about the wide range of products Culinaris stocks. Carefully selected products from all over Europe. Check out their picnic offer for summer 2021.

This family-run business is very popular with the local foodie community. Bridges’ team is passionate about serving the best quality home-cooked food. Highly recommended for their freshly prepared juices, Scotch eggs, The perfect place to create your bespoke picnic.

The gourmet sandwiches of Bread & Meat are filled to the brim with slow-cooked meat and are simply the best! Don’t want meat? They have an excellent offering of signature bowls, plant-based food and poutine too. Look no further, that’s your hearty picnic sorted!
